Portuguese startup Wingdo has developed a solution, which helps travelers explore great outdoors with more comfort. With just one sweep, their multifunctional backpack turns into a seat.

Made of durable and waterproof cordura fabric, the cushion reveals from the backpack letting the traveler sit wherever, on a beach or in the forest. It also features an aluminum frame to support the user’s back while the seat is unfolded.

Lifepack by multinational product design team Solgaard looks like a conventional carry-on suitcase only on the outside. Inside, it features a patented integrated shelving system. Once the traveler opens the suitcase, they only need to lift the handle up and hang the six-pocket shelf on it.

Lucid design agency (with bases in Barcelona, Madrid and Shanghai) has developed its Shell backpack in a bid to create the most versatile backpack on the market that adapts to the needs of various groups of travelers – no matter if they spend a day away from home and go on a two-week trip.

The project started with an in-depth user study to define the objects people take with them on all kinds of trips: to the office or to study, on a short weekend getaway, or on long trips. After that, the team began the conceptualization of the backpack, with the aim of ensuring that all the articles have their own space in the most orderly and handy way possible.

The resulting piece can be adjusted to 3 sizes of 22L, 30L and 40L, letting the user pack enough clothes for a two weeks vacation, packing enough clothes while saving 20% of space. Made from 100% recycled nylon and 64% recycled polyester, it is strong and resistant and is well fitted for constant, heavy use.

The patent-pending modular system features a spacious 40L duffle bag and a compact 10L shoulder backpack attached to its side using a uniquely secure magnetic fidlock system. An additional set of elastic tethers makes it incredibly secure and difficult to remove/detach by accident.

The duffle bag and the backpack can be carried as a single unit or split apart into separate bags that can be used independently. The duffle bag can be complemented with various additions like a detachable magnetic laundry bag, a separate shoe compartment, and an array of pockets/pouches.
